It was also due to the fact most no other kind of service at the time was awarded with leather jackets of any kind. This gave those who had an A-2 a level of distinction they did not mind flaunting in front of all the rest of the service members.

       Even in cases where it was not practical to wear the bomber jackets, they were worn simply because the person owned the jacket. Even if this meant wearing other clothing underneath and over the jacket, it was desirable to wear the jacket through all situations.
       The one place where the men’s leather bomber jacket was seen more often than not was around the base. Those who had one would make sure everyone else would see them wearing it. This quickly bled over into regular society where civilians started buying the mens leather bomber jacket more and more.

       As more bomber jackets were worn in society, the styles changed. There were many manufacturers such as Rough Wear which were not involved in civilian jackets while they were making military jackets.
       This opened up an industry for many other kinds of companies to start creating their own design of mens leather bomber jackets.
       Today, there are many different kinds of companies like Calvin Klein and other high end names which create the leather jackets which are most desired by the men in the world.

Women Love Bomber Jackets Too

       As bomber jackets became more popular, it was only natural there would be styles created for women as well as for men. The women’s leather bomber jacket was defined simply by the contours of the jacket. Today, the many styles of women’s leather jackets are defined by the additions to the original style like faux fur and more.

       These have been added to allow the woman to feel more feminine in her jacket while still keeping the original style of the jacket which made it coveted in the first place.
While the original aviators might not have agreed to the fake fur lining a hoodie for a bomber jacket, it has become more and more normal in modern society.
